Čalma

Čalma is a village located at the northwest part of Sremska Mitrovica county, with about 1700 residents. The name of the village comes from the Čala settlement, which was located nearby during the Roman period. However, other people say it was created durint the Ottoman period, based on the slang name they used for "hat": čalma.
