Beška is a village that rests on the Fruška Gora, i.e. Srem, loess plateau. It is close to the Belagre - Novi Sad highway, and has about 6000 residents. The origin of the word Beška most probably comes from the turkish word beşik (cradle) or the combination of words beş (five) and kaya (stone) which would mean the fifth stone, a meeting point in military or some similar terminology.
